Karl May ist immer dabei

The project "Karl May ist immer dabei" is an ongoing photographic journey through flea markets. The cameras and equipment acquired for the work were bought and used on site. The variety of equipment and its technical quirks create a complex aesthetic experience that reflects the chaos and vibrancy of flea markets. Through this approach the work is expanded by a self-referential component and acquires an independent, characteristic visuality. At the end of every exhibition a flea market will take place, where all the cameras used, the accessories, and actually the entire exhibition will be offered at flea market prices. This commodity cycle creats space for new objects and images.
